Favourite pick up lines

I wonder what are the most effective pick up lines and how do women respond.
In the Indian context I dont believe pick up lines work. One ends up with either verbal abuse or a blushing on the face and if he is that lucky with the sole number printed on his forehead.
Any stories?

I think it's the same in North America. Women would rather have a man say hello and introduce himself, then go on to make genuine conversation than start off with a pre-fabricated line.
I used to think men who used lines had given up any hope of having them work, and would use them as an unconscious revenge attempt. I'd assume they were thinking, "I don't have a hope of you going out with me, so I'll try to offend you and have a laugh with my friends" over your reaction.
