Yes, its says local area connection, i dont know if its fast, looks like its not, there still problems with this net sometime.

man, internet connection in india sucks, we are stagnant with the same kind of speeds since about a year and half. THere is no readl competetion. The private companies arent really doing much to bring on the heat and govt. PSU like BSNL is still monopolising, we need some good and firm rules from TRAI

Extremely slow in Myanmar (Burma) and a lot of websites are banned by Government. There are ONLY TWO ISPs in the whole country. Believe it or not.

I'm supposed to have 8Mb line, but I normally get about 6Mb because it's a fairly old line. Don't know what that is in any other format, sorry.

Well I'm with British Telecom which basically own all the telephone exchanges down here, but it means fast speeds cos they have the money to do it I guess.

in my country the speed can go upto 1 Mbps and even more than that.also there are wide variety of net speed options to choose from starting from 64 kpbs,128kbps,256 kbps ...

The ISP says its between 256-512kbps..however i have always got speeds less than that...
