Is Ball Point Pen abolishing Ink or Fountain Pen?

In our school we used first fountain pen and Chines Youth brand ink pen and England Pelikan Ink was favorite. Now I forgot to write with ink pen as it is hardly available in our country. Ball point becomes prime instrument of writing. Is it abolishing by ball point pen and once fountain pen can be seen in museum only! What is your views.

I think its in the verge of extinction.... people nowadays prefer easy to use things and don't take the trouble of using a ink pen.. who wants to remember filling up ink... I always used to prefer ink pen but, don't know how and when i've moved into using ball point pen... that just struck me when i saw this question...
