dodge ram 1500 5.2 magnum oil pressure

my oil pressure was normal and dropped to zero in about a half a second while driving to work. there is fresh oil on my motor and fan shroud. the oil gauge moves back to normal then back to zero intermintenly. the moter sounds fine even with no oil pressure. i would of thought it was a faulty gauge except for the fresh oil on the motor and fan shroud. im not sure where to start to fix this.......can you point me in the right direction
