how do you feel about being a stepmother?

I adore my step children and love them to bits. It has been a long two years and waiting for the divorce to finalize and the bm to move on with her life and stop blaming the world, or me, for all her problems and short comings. I sometimes feel like I walk on egg shells with my kids which are 11, 6, 2 and think everything I do is being scrutinized by their bm. It's not easy and I am not scared I will do anything wrong I just feel uncomfortable sometimes I guess. Do you feel like this at all? After time does this feeling go away?

/i feel like this all the time.. BM here has told Skids that i'm trying to replace them ( cause we had a baby together) and she has lied countless times. There have been times when i just thought that my DH would be better off without me and was going to leave him. But then friends would talk me out of it and reasure me that she would be like this even if i was another woman. so I def know how your feeling!

I have thought about it many times as well. It's a bit much dealing with a mentally abusive person. Sometimes I could just scream and other times it all just washes off. We had a falling out out over the weekend though, oh fun fun!
