Taboo to Criticize Fat People

Why is it that in public you can criticize a smoker for destroying their own health yet you can't criticize an obese person for the same thing? They are both things that can be controlled, smoking is an addiction, and the other is a medical condition that can be controlled. And I hate the argument that "skinny people don't know what it is like." That is bull. People are skinny either because they have good metabolisms, which you can't blame a person for having a slow metabolism, or because they don't stuff their faces every chance they get. I personally enjoy eating, but I realize when I have had enough and only eat when I'm hungry. Your body has this amazing ability to tell you when you need to eat, yet for some reason some people ignore it and simply eat even when they don't need to. On another note the US FDA suggestion of daily allowances based on a 2000 calorie diet is pretty wrong. There are very few people who need to eat 2000 calories a day, and you are probably not one of them. It takes a big guy to eat 2000 calories.
