a cd plays mostly music and may have one or two videos you can watch as a dvd but mostly music. and a dvd is something that has mostly movies and rarely just music.

cd stands for Compact Disk, DVD stands for Digital Video Disk, The basic thing is storing capactiy DVD has far more capacity than CD (but size is equal) a standar CD has a capacity of around 720MB and a DVD has usually around 720 x 5
Moreover better sound and image quality movies and animations do require more spacing in terms of capacity hence CD will not fit into, so here comes the need for DVD, I hope you understood, if not then ask any thing under my posted topic (computer help)

DVD is more good than Cd.
In Dvd you can setup game,music,divx,video...the dimension is minimum 4GB.
In Cd you can setup one game...or one divx....it's very small.
