Is being a stay-at-home-wife/mom all that great? My fiancee says I don't have to work, he makes enough money to support us and have extra so its not the money I'm concerned about. I'm more concerned about my mental state an social-ability, I'm already shy of people, would it get worse? Would being a stay-at-home-wife/mom really be that great?

Maybe if you've got a baby or kids, i think its alright to stay in the house cos you've got something to do/deal with or spend time with. But being all alone at home is too boring at times. I understand how you feel about it cos im in that situation as well, im new to this country and got a casual job which im just called in when they need an extra staff in the office so not very often that i work so i stay a lot in the house. My hubby always asked mo to go out, meet friends or go to the town just for me to get fresh air, you know what i mean. At the moment im really getting busy looking for some work cos i know it will do me good interacting/meeting with some other people.

I enjoy it. I don't like to go out that often... I am more of a homebody! :) Plus I have my son to keep me company during the day. If I really need to get out, I can go for a walk or whatever. I use the internet for the adult interaction online, and myspace keeps it interesting for me.

Staying at home would give you a lot of options, but if you're already shy, you might have to make yourself take advantage of them. Have you thought of volunteering somewhere? That would "get you out of the house." At home you can develop hobbies and aptitudes that you might never have the time for otherwise. There is a lot to learn to running an efficient household, too, which is the job he's offering you, from the sounds of it. In the end, it's up to you, but don't be afraid to give it a try. You might really enjoy it.

I love being a full time mom. I was staying at home with the boys and working from home (we own a business) until I moved and my dad owns a business, I now work for him and bring my boys with me. It is nice to get out of the house, and still have the kids with me.
