Pat Robertson of the 700 club recently predicted that the U.S. will suffer massive terror attacks in 2007. To see the complete story go to CNN.Com Pat claims that during a prayer with God he was told of these attacks. At first when I read that I blew it off. Just because I hear so many people threating things, trying to scare everyone. But in all reality if you are a christian and believe in God you would know that God can talk to us all. Jesus was turned away and laughed at, even though he new and spoke the truth. I would like to know how everyone else feels about Mr. Robertson predictions. Will you just brush them off or are you going to keep it in you thoughts and prayers?

All kinds of religious leaders, and ordinary people too, claim that God speaks to them. Robertson's predictions seem to be right maybe 50% of the time, the same odds as flipping a coin. And I wonder if God would actually be giving people predictions about presidential elections and legislation, as Robertson has claimed. To me he's more of an entertainer than a preacher, and he's made some really outrageous statements about other people. Maybe he should spend more time reading about Christian teachings on modesty and humility and less time insulting other people.

I agree with you. My husband REFUSES to watch him. *if* God spoke to him its a shame he uses his wisdom the way he does. He's trying to scare people to watch his show. Its sad to think that a man who claim to be so close to God spends his time makeing rash statements instead of teaching others. Thank you for you post.

I believe that God still talks to people I have seen it too many times where he has. I am not a huge fan of Pat Robertson or the 700 club but I am not going to judge him. If he is just saying this to scare people or make himself more prominent then he will have to take that up with God. I do believe that some people are given the gift of prophecy however I am not one of them.

From what I have been taught, the days of prophets are long gone. I don't want to debate anyone,I can't quote the proper scriptures on this one, but that is what I learned in church. I don't think that God "spoke" to him. I think he just has a feeling these things will occur.

Pat who? Wasn't he the guy that was accused for having an affair with a pick up girl?
