I believe in giving to other people is a noble act but to say that it is better than receiving, I don't know.

It's better to give than to receive. Pragmatically there are two advantages when you give some thing to other people: 1. You will have power over him/or depending on how much you give him. 2. It will rise their love and respect on you Of course it would be more noble if you just give and do not expect any reward from them.

Your 2 points are good. Although we don't think of them when we give, they may be an inherent implication. Thanks.

Yes... you said it well. They are inherent implications of giving. That's why many religion recommended it.

yes i think it is really better to give than to receive. let us have for example Jesus Christ. He gave his own life without any demands. He saved us without anything in exchange. giving is a good quality and states that you are happy with your life and contented and wants to share your blessings with other people.

I think it defintely is better to give. When someone gives me something, I am grateful and appreciative, but I always feel a little funny about accepting. But when I give something, it always makes me feel good about myself. I also think that it raises the self-esteem more to give. Then I also believe that God blesses you for your gist if you give it in the right spirit. It says in the Bible to be a cheerful giver. So yes, I like to give more than recieve.

From the quote above you might observe that many people nowadays tend to hesitate when someone offers something, tendency is the giver feels that he is rejected. You might as well find person who are happy in giving and doing something to others because they derived pleasure from it. For me, neither giving nor receiving is better. Doing both is the best.
