Office Space: Is it anything like your office?

I have worked for someone in the past who was kind of a slow talker like Bill Lumberg, and I've also had the coworker who always thought he was gonna get fired like Milton. Then there's that dang printer at my current job, my old job, and every job! As well as that crappy fax machine! I hate them just as much as the guys at this office :)
The whole movie is just awesome for anyone who works in an office mostly b/c it shows what we all want to do - knock down the cubicle walls, and just do whatever we want!
So anyone else have "Office Space" experience in your life? What would you do if you just didn't care?

Merge Office Space with Boiler Room and it reminds me of almost exactly what the office I used to work for was like. It is almost scary. I had the five bosses all coming in to check up on me everyday and the fax machine that wouldn't ever work (actually a copier in my office).
I think it makes the movie even that much funnier because it is almost real life.

Yikes! Boiler Room is an intense office, I couldn't deal with that. But yes, Office Space is hilarious b/c you can put people you work with into a lot of the roles. I have friends who don't work in offices, but still find it hilarious b/c of the characters and how "real" they are - even though they are exaggerated some ;)
BTW - Did you fix that TPS Report??? ;)

I worked for a dvd retail website out in the warehouse and was always striving to work my way into an office position. I grew to regret it once I did. I got stuck in a little 4'x4' cube to do data entry all day. I think adding the 19 to all of the dates would have been more exciting. I would have loved to have been able to just push over one of those walls. It gets claustrophobic in there.

Yes it does! Although sometimes I enjoy the privacy, sometimes I wish others sat closer. Really, I can still hear everyone in the office, but if I want to talk to someone I have to get up and walk around. I do this every so often for exercise and human contact :) I don't get bored though, I like what I do, it just gets tiring being trapped in a box all day.

I don't currently work in an Office Space environment. I have... but thankfully my office is all open and nice where I work now. We did have an office space moment though. Our fax machine was a hateful machine. When we got a new one the boss wanted the old one destroyed so noone could get to the phone numbers or anything on the memory chip (a bit paranoid). So another co worker and I took it out side - dropped it - kicked it- and beat it with large hammers. It was really fun and relieved a lot of stress.

I know I'd love to do that to a few pieces of computer equiptment we have in our office! That's cool that you got to do that. We never can because we lease our equipment and whenever we get a new machine we have to return the old ones. I guess they reuse the parts or something. If my home computer breaks down, I'll have to give it a try :)

I would say that my position resembles that of the main character a lot, in the fact that I have to do the same tasks over and over again, and that there are many forms that I have to fill out with anything paperwork related. If I could take a sledge-hammer to this copy machine... oh man I would be a happy camper.

Yep me to, like the passwords! I am always dealing with people who forgot their passwords or need a new account or whatever. It's like, write it down!! Arg. Funny thing is I can't reset it anyway, so I have written a hundred emails to the help desk saying "could you please so-and-so's password". Then a hundred more emails following up with the person.
Our printer sucks to. The manual feed doesn't even work, and always gets caught up. It's frustrating, so I just use another printer across the office and say screw it - I need the exercise!

i used to have a job as a grocery store cashier with an annoying person like Nina "Hello, welcome to Inotech, corporate account tables this is Nina speaking, just a moment!" Every time she would recieve a call at Customer Service, she would say "hello welcome to Food City, this is Barbara how can i help you?" It got really annoying after a while, and when I quit i made sure to tell her so.
