Chocolate and dogs

Why is it that chocolate is bad for dogs? I've heard it is even deadly.

Chocolate is toxic for dogs. That means it is a poison for dogs. I have heard of owners that feed there dogs chocolate and the dog still gets 15 years old, but personally I think it's not worth the risk to try if your dog gets sick from it or not.

I understand it is toxic but what in it that is toxic that is harmful to dogs?

chocolate is has some probs when it goes into the dogs' body, because of the way thier digestive sys reacts to some stuffs in chocolate, I cant remember the exact name though,,

It's true that chocolate is toxic for dogs ... also onions are deadly for dogs if they eat enough of it.

dogs kidneys and liver cann't break down certain food that people can onions are posinous but a small amount would not kill but better to not feed any toxic food I mean would you eat alittle poison just because that amount would not kill you? I cann't paste but do a search on whats toxic to pets some foods would surprice you .

ok here the deal 1oz of milk chocolate is ok but it is dark or baking chocolate that is poison to the dog.
