The word nice originally meant stupid?

Check Websters and you will see. That's only one example of words changing their meaning through the years. Do you know of some more?

That's interesting, Manong05, I didn't know that, hmm.... I know of one: to be a "Geek" meant that you were one of the men who bit the heads off of chickens at carnivals (way back in the day)! And of course now it means "nerd"... I wonder how both of those words changed over the years :)

yes very interesting. Another word I think of is salvage. To salvage originally meant to save but ask somebody here in the Philippines and nobody wants to be salvaged because the word salvage means "to kill" or summary execution. Funny isn't it? lol
