I realized that it's really important to reflect on your investing strategies and portfolio on a regular basis. I don't mean that you need to adjust your strategies regularly, I mean that you need to make sure that you're sticking to your plan. (you do have an investing plan, don't you?) The Internet can be a powerful tool to help you conduct research and discuss stocks intelligently. Of course, you have to sift through a lot of dirt and you need some experience to distinguish between good and bad information. I think that the best place to start isn't on-line, it's in the library. Next time you're at the library, look for books on Warren Buffett, or on "Value Investing." I also recommend books written by Joel Greenblatt. These type of books will get you started on the road towards becoming company owners through stock ownership, as opposed to stock traders. This type of thinking towards investing can also apply to your career. It helps to think of your career as a small "business" that provides you with cash flow (usually the main source of it). This way of thinking has helped me to figure out how to manage my money. There will be varying comfort levels for each individual. Hopefully someone finds this information useful.

Buffett is a master, and his principles are very sound. I agree that it's important to not only have goals and strategies but to periodically check your progress to make sure you're still on track. In investing, for instance, advisors recommend evaluating your holdings at least once a year to see if some asset classes are over or underweighted and if you may need to rebalance things.
