Get them to attend work shops early, like arts and craft workshops, talent enhancement and things like those, being with a group in developing their talents will bring them away from TV interest and they will gain other interest that will enhance their tallents, if not let them attend Balley lessons, sweeming, or try to identify what your baby is interested in. Most of the time momies wants to see their children inside the house instead of playing with other kids, so what is in your house TV, sometimes mothers actually open tv to keep their children busy while they do errands, sometimes also the mother is actually the one addicted to Tv thats why the child also follows. Take care that you do not spend too much time on TV as well

I donot think its TV addiction anymore, its the games!Box, Playstation and the rest og them dominate using the TV and they are so addiciting. My husband comes home from work, sits down and doesnt stop playing until bedtime. My grandchildren have fallen into the same trap. My daughter WISHES they would watch more TV!

I can answer this from a child's perspective as I don't have experience as a parent :). All a child wants is attention from its parents. The more time parents spend with their children teaching them or playing with them or taking them out for walfs or strolls, listening to them (even if it is gibberish) prevents the child from getting attracted to the idiot box. The basic idea is to occupy the chil's time with something interesting with your presence and not give any time for TV. Hope this helped to some extent.

There has to be a certain limit to watching tv whether kids or adults. Sometimes kids get this idea of watching T.V. for a long time because they get it from the adults. So parents be responsible, who knows your kids might be learning from your actions anyway.
