Check the numbers, as the number of animals bvorn in this world increaces, so does the number of abuse related incidences... It's not fair... Why is it people get animals, and then hurt them, or even kill them in a horrible manner? I have several pets, and this is something that really ticks me off!!! I can't beleave how someone could just do something like this... I got a horse and a dog form the wife of a man who had gone to prison. My horse is my baby, as was the dog that we had gotten (Rest his soul) When we got him we took him majorly because of the damnage that he had, and the fact that we couldn't stand to see him like that. We took him home and started doctoring this horse. He wouldn't go near anyone, and it tool almost a year to get him to trust even us.... He was bleeding from the eyes, ears, mouth and nose when we got him, because of the beatings he had receaved, and also several broken ribs. This poor horse is the best animal you can ask for, Now he talks to us and follows us anywhere we wish to go, but why would someone hurt this poor thing like that? The dog that we had gotten passed last year by some jerk on the road that shouldn't have been going so fast. I don't believe in putting my animals on chains, keeping them outdoors or anything else related to something that i would classify as abuse but you hear about it every day, both animals were severely abused before they came to me, and i have seen several other cases where the animal was on death's row because of some jerk who thought it was okay to hit the dog or whatever it is with a baseball bat till it was on the ground not mooving and bleeding, i can't stand it, and i would like to change that one day.... if there's anything anyone wants to say on this go ahead and elaborate, i would love to hear thoughts, stories, anything you have... It would be nice to hear from animal lovers alike.

I don't think that anyone who abuses animals should be treated lightly, a lot of animals come to love and respect humans and this should be mutual, I would hate to even know anyone like this.

It's terrible the amount of animal and abuse that goes on in the world. I jsut don't understand most of it. And I don't know if the amount of animals in the world makes a difference in the abuse factor anyway. Although I guess it does with all the puppy mills and such. We rescued a foal that was taken away for neglect. When he was 10 mos old we sold him. 3 mos later my mother went to see him and you could hardly recognize him, he looked like an old man. He was so skinny and his growth stunted that his head looked too big for his body. It was horrible. We got him back and found him a much better home. We also rescued a 1/2 Arabian 1/2 Quarter horse 16 hands. She was so thin her chest was only as wide as one hand. We fattened her up and boy could she jump. We ended up selling her after a year because I was young and couldn't handle her well enough. We also rescued a Thoroughbred that was so skinny and had Rickets. Keep up the good work.

I know how you feel. I think it's quite sad that people go out of there way to purchase a pet & then end up harming them afterwards. To me if you are wanting to do that to a selfless animal why would you even get one in the first place?! I don't believe that anyone in this world has the right to take there anger out on an animal. There are various forms of animal abuse going on within this world, & in my opinion not one of them is right! And the people who do end up committing this crime should pay for what they have done! I used to have a dog that when we first had gotten her.. The people who used to own her would keep her in a barn full of hay.. And the hay would poke through her fur in to her skin. And parts of her hair was missing because they used to hit her & just leave her out there in the cold in the barn all the time. And they'd throw her around.. Disgusting behavior don't you agree?! . . My ex's mother ended up telling me about the dog & I couldn't stand hearing what had happened to this animal.. So even though my ex boyfriend didn't want her, I got her anyways.. I couldn't just allow an animal to be going through something such as that. It honestly broke my heart hearing her story. And when I ended up getting her she was so scared at first but eventually warmed up. She then trusted me & I still remember this dog so very well.. My ex boyfriend was a cruel man & when we had broken up he just went & sold her without me knowing.. I can only hope that the people who had gotten her treated her as good as I had. It still eats at me to know someone would do that to me, but also to the dog. Especially when the dog & me we're so close.. I am just glad I had rescued it & had given it a better roof over her head.. I know that I am all for animal rights. And I am strongly against animal abuse. I could never understand how a person could just sit there & hurt an animal intentionally. You know if they are abusing an animal, more than likely they will abuse there own child or significant other. Abuse of any kind in my opinion is wrong. But when it comes to animals in general, there is nothing more distressing then this abuse because they are defenseless & innocent. They are just like children. They are unable to protect themselves from this kind of harm. In conclusion I am glad that you had shared your story & how you had helped the animals within your life. Thank you for allowing me to share with you mine in return. Not to sound over the top here but in my opinion.. Anyone who is to hurt a small defensive animal should truly rot in hell for doing such a thing! . .
