Where can I create a website for free??

Is there any place I can get my own website and have a message board and be able to put codes and stuff in it for pictures and backgrounds??

Geocities is not free any more. I had a free website with them and as soon as they started charging, they deleted my website and I lost all content that I had stored online on their servers.
