I've been trying to do raw foods for what seems like 5 years. Has anyone had a lot of success with it? I know that i have when I've maintained. I just don't know what it is that makes me fall off! I would love to see if there are people out there who have had long term success, and how they accomplished it.

I did it successfully for only one month. I wouldn't have gotten out of the habit except it was right around the holidays and everywhere I looked people were giving me free food! My biggest problem is there aren't a lot of places that have organic food around here, and I don't have the time to drive out to find it. I think some keys to being successful are taking the time to learn how to change your diet because if you don't have a lot of spare time it'll be alot easier to just go back to your old ways. You also have to really WANT to do it...which is why most people don't successfuly change until they've had a major illness. I hope it doesn't take something like cancer to convince me to change, but I think it just might! My mom had cancer and she had NO problem switching to healthier foods...I think every time she eats something unhealthy she remembers chemo, and surgery, and the fact that she is lucky to still be alive to be able to MAKE those choices about what to eat...

I consider myself to be an extremely healthy raw foodist, but I had a lot of help in my journey . One of the greatest resources I had in my raw journey was David Wolfe's site http://www.thebestdayever.com I have a pic of David Wolfe in my profile photos. I really think if you just get a membership to that site and listen to what they say, you will do GREAT on raw food.

I never tried it, i'd think after 5 years you'd try something else, eating healthy is important and thats something i need to do. Is everything raw? like meat and fish? or just fruits and veggies.

I have never heard of a raw food diet. After reading the threads it sopunds as if it is maybe a vegetarian diet. I would love a better explaination from you as you have been doing for so long. What do you eat, give us some sample menus maybe?
