My little adopted chihuahua/terrier mix.

Princess Laughing - She looks like a bulldog but who cares

She is such a sweet, formerly abused, little dog but instead of my friends saying that I did the right thing in adopting her all I hear is how could you want such an ugly dog. Do you think people should only care for an animal if it is beautiful? I don't. I think they all have something beautiful about them

Some people are so cruel. I have never seen anything ugly that god has made. The only ugly thing is their attitude.

Daisy - This is Daisy as a puppy. She was about 3 months old when this picture was taken. She is a bit bigger now, with a long body like a jack russell, and a little head like a chihuahua. But I love her dearly. :)
Well, I would say just don't listen to them. Actually, you could tell them that they are being rude and should mind their own business. I have a little chihuahua/jack russell mix. And all I hear about is how I had wanted a full blooded chihuahua and then got THIS dog. Well I do tell them that yes I wanted a full blooded chihuahua, but Daisy has turned out to be the perfect dog for me and I love her. That usually shuts them up a bit, even if they DO shake their heads some.

Daisy is beautiful. I have two other full blooded chihuahuas and my little mix is just as precious to me as the other two. Thanks for your response and photo.

Hunny you did the right thing, dump the friends and keep the dog. I can not understand how people put stipulations on the love they give an animal based on looks. I see ugly people give birth to ugly children do we reject them. No wonder so many are neglected!

I can't believe anybody said that! I think those little guys are adorable especially the one in the avatar. He's too cute for words. Some one else on here posted that the shelter wouldn't take her cat because they said the cat was just too ugly. Now I happen to known beyond any shadow of a doubt there is NO such thing as an ugly cat....Let's face it some people have no taste!

People should care for all animals. Beauty isn't about what just is on the outside-it's also inner beauty. Your little dog was formerly abused which I think is horrible but yet her personlaity is one of sweetness and love. Don't let your friends remarks bother you--you did the right thing by adopting her.

I think she's actually kinda cute hahaah! I love her crazy white hair. I bet her personality makes her even cuter!! Dont mind those people. When we rescued our cat, people kept saying she was ugly. I think you're a wonderful person for not only rescuing your dog but because you opened your heart to love her, when many others wouldn't!

Is princess the dog they think is ugly? I think she's adorable! If she can still give love after being abused she is something really special. Maybe your "friends" are jealous of something in your life and want to hurt you or cut you down to their size. Why else would people say things that hurt you? They don't sound like friends to me. You need friends as special and as loving to you as princess.

You know what, whiteheather? Small dogs have become accessories these days, much like the newest "way overpriced" handbag or face-enveloping sunglasses. People want them to be cute so they can think THEY look cute toting them around. It makes me sick. Good for you for adopting a dog that needed all the love you could give her. I'm glad she knows now that not all humans are jerks. I won't tell you what I think of anyone that would abuse an animal. I prefer to just give you a virtual hug instead :)

I used to breed chihuahuas I got calls from people wanting dogs for thier teens to carry around in bags .I don't care you can care them around in bags sure but they are still dogs they well need trained .At first they well whine bark they need house trained how ment bussy teen girls really want a fashion Assesery that requires as much time and commitment as a living breathing dog does .Then when they decide it any worth it the dog won't do like tinker bell then the poor thing is either negleted or in a shelter or rescue . Btw you dog is not ugly it is cute as a pet groomer I might even up the hairs on the neck but other wise it looks great .

i dont think it matter if they think your or there dog is pretty or not, its up to you, all puppy dogs are diffent frome each other .just like people are, you meet some you like you get to know them. than again you meet people you dont like so you dont have any thing to do with them.if you just pick a pretty face, , you just might be loseing out on something special. i think your puppy dog is cute, sweet, an you did a good thing buy bring her home with you. she will learn to love again . she will be happy.thanks for sharing

Cheers to you...I think it's great that you have opened your heart and home to an animal in need. I think that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" I wish more people would help unwated pets. I have adopted alot of animals that were not attractive. You have to look beyond..just as with people to see their inner beauty. Here are some links for anyone looking to adopt a pet in need. http://www.petfinder.org/ www.animalshelter.org/ http://www.animalshelter.org/ www.pets911.com

And those are the kind of people who shouldn't own any pets! Arrrffff. Are all people beautiful? NO. But we all have feelings...just like animals. Every living think deserves to be loved. You did the right thing. You will get more from this pet and your interactions that those friends. They don't get it and probably get a pet to match their furniture. Right?

Your friends shouldn't say that. I think every animal should have someone good taking care of it. I'm glad you adopted her and are taking good care of her.

Personally, I think she is lovely! She needs you right now and I didn't adopt my husband because he was cute, he was sweet and caring and he needed LOVE! I also adopted an abused cocker, he's so sweet and so afraid we are going to leave him and never come back. Do people only care for humans because their beautiful! Good Luck with your adoption!
