Are dogs better than cats?

Dogs are not better than cats. Dogs are to wild and they smell funny. I only like a few select dogs, the more laid back reserved quiet dogs.

It depends. Some breeds are not easy to train like german sheperds, etc. I have had alot of dogs in my life (most my mom's) and it takes a patient person with certain breeds. I trained my american eskimo pomeranien on my own and he had difficulty listening alot, but he's five years old now and has become a great dog. I also really LOVE cats. All they need is a litterbox and food and they're incredibly self sufficient. You don't need to train them really (except to not scratch furniture but that can be fixed by getting them a scratching post) and they're really small/cuddley most of the time.
