How Many times do you say a prayer in a day?

I do it once, just after getting up in the morning. A study says, prayer helps us heal our mental state, such as depression, anxiety etc. Personally I feel it's working out for me. How about you all? Should we pray at all, it's not just about being superstitious or whatsoever.

It depends on the day. I try to say thankyou prayers as soon as I start the day. Thank you for another day to learn and to grow and to do. Thank you for being in my life. Thank you for my husband and children etc. Thank you for my health. Then I get busy with my work. I like to listen to Christian radio during the day to keep me focused on good things, so sometimes just the words of a great song will make me want to praise and to pray. I usually pray on the way home...thanking God for a good day, or for the help He gave me to get through the day. When I go to bed at night, I have the radio on christian music again...mostly to help drown out my snoring husband! LOL but, also to keep my subconcious on good thoughts while I sleep, and I often pray before I go to sleep and during the night when I wake up for a minute or so.

I pray alot throughout the day --- I have issues :) Seriously, prayer for me is a stablizing factor in my daily life, I am bi-polar, have various health issues, in different levels of healing in various areas of my life. Prayer strengthens me and gives me daily hope and focus.

My life consists of praying without ceasing. That doesn't mean that my every thought is in prayer form. I keep an open line to God as if I am just carrying on a conversation, but only in my head. I ask Him to help me as I face a challenge, and thank Him as that prayer is answered. In cases where I really need something badly for myself or others, I pray on my knees. I try not to make a show of my prayer life, for it is really just between me and God. There are times when I share with others how God has answered my prayers. My faith guides me to ask for He promises in the Bible that He will answer.

Sorry, I'm not a christian. So I don't pray. Some of my firends pray before they have meal, so that's at least three times daily!

I very rarely pray. I find that most people pray for something for themselves or their family and that I find cheapens religion. Sort of 'I am in religion for what I can get out of it' But then, if you really think that your prayer will be answered and it makes you feel better about life, then religion is really good for you. Religion has done a good thing.

But I thought that was the reason for praying - to hopefully get a result? I mean no offence to you or others here, I am interested in peoples views as well.

Reasons for praying are uncountable. Haven't you ever said a prayer to God? I have no doubt you've done it before. That says it all..Thanks for the reponse again..

I never spoke about a particular religion. I was indicating the God inside you. You just have to say a few words that pleases you. We pray to God not with the hope that the prayers should be answered. Thanks for the response...

i pray only once daily. and when i go to bed i say thanks to God, if in that day anything good had happened. if u have faith inGod then nothing wil affect u. that faith in God wil make u to live the life. i believe in God. i believe that he has created the whole world. God wil definitely answer our prayers one day or the other.

hi, i agree with the what the study states that prayer help us heal our mental state. in a a day a pray around 5 times, when i wake up,before eating breakfast, lunch, dinner and as well before going to bed.i really do have a strong faith in GOd its not only because i am superstitious,i do attend mass during sundays and even on weekdays (catholics).i do trust in his power and i do believe that he answers all our prayers. just by praying, i do have a peace of mind.

I unfortunately find myself praying to God whenever there seems to be some sort of upcoming and possible disaster- Then i always feel guilty and tell God how sorry i am that i don't pray to him more otherwise, naturally..yet i find myself falling back into the same old 'routine', and then i will pray when the guilt may strike me..I always tell him, and myself, that i will try and do 'a better job', yet it always finds a way to fall by the wayside..again. Definately not something i am proud of even through admission~

Hey that's ok! You atlest remember HIM when you're in trouble. There are people who don't and that's when they commit something unusual and get into trouble. I think you're alright...Any comments on what I said?
