I worked at a La Petie Acadamy in Austin and there was a teacher there that left her own infant in the car during work and forgot about her until her shift was done seven hours later. When she got off and got to her car the baby was dead in its carseat. It was such a tramtic even and the teacher got fired. Do you think it was wrong of her to get fired? On top of losing her baby she loses her job to. Or was she not sufficant enough for childcare??

I feel for the woman. I dont think she did it intentionally. There is something that happens to some women after they have a baby that their brain cells really do not function properly. I went through that. I didnt forget any of my kids, but I was so forgetful that I was afraid constantly that I would forget one of my kids, etc. I think that for the reputation sake of La Petite, she needed to be fired. I dont think that I would be happy to know that a child care provider that forgot her kid in the car is capable of taking care of mine. I think that LaPetite did the right thing but maybe they needed to give her a leave of absence and then eventually not bring her back. I dont know. That would soften the blow. I do hope that lady is ok...i cant imagine the devastation she has caused upon herself.
