Hey everyone! I'm trying to create a banner for my plog so I can post it in a couple places. I'm planning on using fireworks, but I'm still quite new to it. If anybody can give me any kind of hints (banner size in pixels, backgrounds, etc) it would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you all in advance!

hi! as a starter, you can use Adobe Photoshop in creating your very first web banner. it has template in the New command, it says, Web Banner and it only has one size listed, like 400 something x 60. but i think that's the common size. but you can make something bigger if you want.

You could try this site for free banners. it has both animated and static banners collections.
www.freegraphics.com
Or you could try this site also, this is also a relatively useful site for those looking for banners, graphics, etc. But this is a paid site.

Since you are using fireworks then u can visit the site below for a tutorial on how to use and go about it.

                    Hi,
I make my graphics using adobe photoshop, adobe imageready and paint shop pro 8,
if your a beginner I would recommend you trying paint shop pro 8 first and get familiar with it before using adobe photoshop :) good Luck!
Or if you want I can make your banners for you. Totally free of charge haha.
