There was an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where Debra and Ray get into a bit of an argument because she finds out that he kept an old "break up tape" from his answering machine and he finds out that she has a box of "keepsakes" from old boyfriends, including some gifts around their house that came from guys in her past.
Have you kept any mementos or souvenirs from past relationships? Gifts? Do you have a stash of love letters somewhere? If you do, does your partner know you have them? Are they ok with it or does it cause any trouble?

I still have photos of my ex husband and it drives my husband crazy! I keep them because he is my oldest son's father, and some day I will pass them on to my son. But as for any mementos, wedding ring, corny poems he wrote me? They got trashed years ago!

I still have photos and videos with my ex in them, primarily because the kids are in them too. But I recently got rid of my first wedding dress... neither of the girls wanted it, even when offered multiple times, and while renovating our basement last year, I found a bunch of cards and things that I also got rid of. My husband didn't have any feelings about them, either way (or not feelings that he voiced LOL) but I don't feel an attachment to them so there was no need to keep them.

I do have things in a box that I've gotten from ex boyfriends, my husband knows and he doesn't have a problem with it. He knows it is just pieces of my past that I like to look back on. My past has made me who I am today. I have no desire to be with any of my exes, I only want to be with my husband, but I also don't want to forget my past and the things along the way that made me who I am.

I've seen that episode 3-4 times. I have pictures, that's about it. I think it's a sin to destroy or throw away a picture! I keep them put up so it hasn't been a problem so far. And hopefully it never becomes one, cause I refuse to throw the pics away, so I guess whom-ever is getting jealous will be what I get rid of, lol. Just kiddin'
