Why Orkut has become so popular?

What do you think, wy Orkut has become so popular within a short span of time? Neither it pays money, nor its showing any greed to its user. Most of the people are hooked to it? Acoording to you, what may be the reason?

because it is too good.. actually orkut provide a platform where we can meet with our old and new friends. we can talk to him by scrap send message to our friend.. make new friends from our friends network or from any other place.. we can join communities on different topics and discusses and share some valuable information

The reason is that through orkut we can meet our old friends,go through others profiles,photos and all.Also lot of information is exchanged helping the needy ones.Also sending a mail to friend takes timw when compared to writing scrap to him.Also conference talk is also possible and also new people become friends and all.That is the reason.And also people with same interests or views come together and share their ideas.Ofcourse,it has its own disadvantages
