I have noticed over the years the habit of saying Thank You seems to have gotten lost, here is a link for printable Thank you notes you can print out for free and maybe have on hand for your kids, encourage them to say thank you. Lets bring it back in fashion.

I think to send a small note of thanks is nice, not many people think about doing it these days...

Habits never die whether it is good or bad. You still remeber the thank you notes since a real thank you come from heart. Time has changed. Relationships are also traded for money what more can we expect here?

I still make my teens send them out to people after getting gifts. Sometimes I do forget though. I agree it's a lost art and something that we perhaps should find again. It's a matter of politeness!

Yes we should try and get it back, it takes so little with all of the communication of today...thank you for responding.

My children write thank you notes. Sometimes with some poking and prodding, and sometimes they just go ahead and do it themselves. Like this Christmas: My 13 year old daughter wrote everyone who gave her a Christmas gift a thank you note. I didn't even mention it to her. In fact, my 10 year old didn't and I haven't told her she had to. I figure if the person is present when you open your gift, a verbal thank you at that time is enough.

Then I think you should be very proud of your children, I hardly ever get a thank you from the kids I give presents to, I think it must be just how they are taught in the first place, thank you for the response.

I think it is a nice thing to do, I guess you just have to think if you give someone something how you feel when they take the time to thankyou...
