Did you go to school for something that you don't use

I went to school to be a security officer because my dad is a correctional officer. I have always wanted to be in corrections. I soon found out that security and corrections where two completely different things. I have my licence and now I never use them. I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there who has done something like this
