What artistic medium makes the most money?

It looks like music makes the most money, but what about movies? I would think that paintings don't do well as it did hundreds of years ago, but paintings are auctioned for millions! Are computer gamers / gaming companies rich, or do they suffer much from piracy? No wrong answers, just want to see what ordinary people (like me) think.

If an artist designs gold and diamond jewelry, there are more takers for it.

Piracy has been around longer than CD’s, in terms of gaming I use to borrow a friend floppy disc and before that in the old spectrum days it was tapes! I think if piracy had any real impact on these markets most of the game developers would have gone bankrupt by now and be living under a rock. I think that also goes for music and films and the possibility that piracy could ever end these mediums is proven by history to be inaccurate. Although the world of painting isn’t without it’s own form of ‘piracy’ although more like forgery, I’m sure that has a bigger impact on the industry than either of two mentioned mediums considering as you said, people are willing to pay millions if they think an article is genuine, piracy on music, film and game industry doesn’t necessarily lose anything ‘physical’ and don’t stand to make as large loss as the originals are always there to be sold, they just ‘lose out’ rather than lose money. I’d like to guess at paintings, although at the end of the day the music/film/ and game industry no matter how rubbish the production will always sell, I think I’ll go for Music over films and games as I’m sure it costs less to create an album therefore more profit.
