Good morning (or evening as it may be in your area), I have a resolution for this new year to perform more random acts of kindness. I am having trouble coming up with new ones! Please, plese help me be creative! My favorite is to cut cents-off coupons from the Sunday paper for products that I do not use and afix them on or near the product at the local grocery. Some unassuming shopper will reap the savings. Please help me come up with many more random acts that I can perform. (Please don't advise me to randomly put coins in parking meters as we do not have any parking meters in my town! )

I LOVE this topic! I also love your idea re the coupons! Would never have thought of that! How about letting the person behind you in the queue go first? Complimenting a stranger. Putting up a birdfeeder in winter. Giving a blanket or a meal to a homeless person. If you receive good service somewhere, getting the persons name, then contacting management and letting them know. You've really got me thinking now! I'm going to see if I can think of some more then come back and post them! Wonderful topic!

I've just thought of one we can do right here on MyLot! Add tags to discussions you reply to. This increases the chance of more people finding those discussions.

The best random acts that I can come up with currently are to open doors for strangers, park further away at the mall to leave the closer spots for older patrons and to randomly buy coffee for a stranger. You could always pick up the tab for the car behind you for toll roads or at the car wash. I like your idea of clipping coupons and affixing to the product to help someone out. I would of never thought of that idea! Terrific idea!

wow, love the idea of paying for the car behind me at a toll road! There are no toll roads in/near my town, but believe me, next time I am traveling and utilize a toll road, I will pay for the car behind me! Thanks for your response!

What a lovely thing to do, and to post. There is always cherity time to help someone inbound. You can offer to bring some things to them. You can volenteer time almost anywhere these days. You can purchase a few lottery tickets and give them out to the needy. You can get some magazines or cross word puzzels and give them out to patients. You can make some cookies, and bring them to the fire or police station. Bless your sweet heart.

How about paying for someone's lunch or dinner without them knowing it? Or if you hear someone talking at work about how hard it is to make ends meet...buy them a gift card for an eating place, or gift certificate to a grocery store.

Something you can do is for dogs/cats in your area is give treats for them to the owners. We have a guy who comes around our house and will give our dog a chew bone when she is out there. I thought that was nice of him. Collecting things to donate to nursing homes. Many residents do not have families and would appreciate extra clothes, new personal care products, radios, or other things like this. Also going in and becoming a volunteer there to aid in nail care can be a real treat for them. Hope that helps

I often have my daycare kids make original artwork for the nursing home residents. They make Christmas cards, valentines, American flag pictures, whatever would look festive on their bulletin boards. We usually make may baskets and deliver them on May 1 too. The residents are always glad to see us coming!

just ask a stranger in the store how they are and wish them a good day, make cards and give them to veterens or nursing homes.. collect canned foods to give to a homeless shelter, let someone go in front of you at the grocery store, smile at people - it definitely makes my day brighter when i see happy people. pick up trash if you see it in a parking lot, hold the door open for a stranger, put some change into the cans at stores "to help the needy, whatever the cause".

Go to a orphanage and spend time with the kids! And trust me kids's company will leave you feeling younger and fresh and much better By the way your coupons idea is too good! This shows people who seriously are good from within and want to do good to others will do it some way or the other! Where there's a will there's a way! You rock! May God bless you with the best in life!

that is a wonderful idea...however there is no orphanage within miles of my home. I can however go to the local nursing home and spend some time with a lonely soul. Thanks for the idea! I had really hoped to get more responses to my question, but alas, either it is a boring topic to most or folks are like me and drawing a blank!

Oh, I like the orphanage idea. I'll have to check around my area. Thanks How about visiting children in your local hospital. I do that alot. I also sometimes will save my happy meal toys..hehehe and give them out to kids at the playground when I walk my dog. I also take my ferrets to the playground so kids can play with them. You should see some of their eyes light up. The ones that have never seen a ferret especially.

I suggest to everybody if you have an urge for kindness. Just please everybody be kind on the road with others. Here in my country the people are so unpatient and impolite in traffic... SOmetimes I do not really understand. Well, this is my best idea for you.
