Craigslist: How do they make their money?

I LOVE craigslist. It is so useful. I've sold many things on it, found apartments to live in and love visiting the missed connections section, just for fun. The simple and basic layout-without any ads-is fantastic. I'm just wondering how they make any profit?

you know, i never thought about that. its pretty much user run, so they probably don't put a whole lot into it, but still, someone needs to be doing the programming, and they definately can't be making a profit. hmm...
