Feminism!! Did it really ever happen???

Will women ever be equal to men? In the news today it stated that only 1 in 10 directors of companies are women in the UK. They are paid 17% less than men. They are penalised for having a family as part-time work is very rarely offered. Only 2 in 10 women are Members of Parliament. Even among women who do not strive to be at the top of their profession, they are still earning less than men. They are usually employed in more meanial jobs as well as still looking after their family. Is it the same in your country? What are your views on the feminist ideal, has it worked or not?
