When you give are you looking for something back?

When I give a gift it is because I want to give a gift, not because I want to or expect to receive something in return. Gifts aren't like money, something we exchange for goods and servies, gifts are like volunteer work, something we do because we WANT TO!

No, its a joy to be able to share your wealth with someone or people that you care about, you should do it because you want to and it brings you joy not to do it because of what you may recieve in return, that is no fun that way and i believe that you wont get no pride with that either

i give freely without expecting anything back. i think it is an honor to be able to help/serve people so expecting anything in return is never my intention.

I would prefer to give freely. I have always struggled with accepting gifts and never feel my gift is better than the other person's so I would much prefer to give than get. It is very selfish of my, I know, but I am working on the accepting thing, it's just tough for some reason.

I give freely. You cannot feel the true essence of giving if you didn't give it freely. As the common saying goes "its better to give than to recieve."

I would say, most times I give freely, expecting nothing in return. However, I also believe in "do unto others as you would have done unto you", so I also believe that if I give, then others should give. This comes into play in situations like....babysitting for family or friends. I help you, you help me. Family chores. I will cook, you will clean. Borrowing from nieghbors. You can borrow my chain saw, can I borrow your extension ladder. I guess it is unspoken, I do not get mad if they don't offer, or respond. But it makes things nicer if they do.

No,I don't look for something in return, however because of the world we live in, sometimes I have that nagging little voice in the background, that cautions me and warns me that I should always be careful about the choices I make...SS

I don't usually expect anything back unless the person wants to give me something. All in All, I like to help out people in times of needs.

When I give, I don't expect anyhting back. I give a gift because I want to. Even for holidays, I don't expect anything in return.

naa.....i dont follow give and take policy....but if the other party is willing to give something then i dont mind accepting it from him/her. i am always ready to help others to the highest extent. if i cant help i straignt away say no to them....sometimes it depends upon my mood also. if i am tired i straight away say no......

no. i do not expect anything. i used to give watever i can give. i've always been a giver in my life. my police in life is not to have any kind of expectations. then u wont have any disappointment.

No, I don't expect anything back. I enjoy giving. To me, it's passing on the blessings. Sometimes being able to give makes people feel good. But one day recent I was thinking how i am always thinking of other people, and I began to feel that no one thinks of me or appreciate what I do. Still I just continue to do what I can and make someone's day.

I never look for or expect anything back. Giving makes me feel good about myself. Knowing that I have helped someone out in any way, is good enough for me. I was always told that when you give...you receive blessings and when you are willing to give, you are truly blessed.

wen i give something to someone i dont expect something in return, it is better to give than to receive, i love giving anything to someone, personalized thing specially seeing them smiling, and i give something to them so thatif time comes we miss each other they can simply look at what i have give them and remember me as well as the memories we had

Yes but not to all things.I give love to my boyfriend and im expexting the same from him.And i am really loyal to him and expecting the same from him too.But when i give some help,i don't expect it back.

I get great joy out of giving, and doing things for other people. I love to see their smiles. It makes me feel good knowing that I was able to put a smile on someone's face or make their day.
