Is Schmidt going to help enough?

16 million a year for someone who was either lights out or serving up softballs was either a coup getting the Giants Ace away or is he going to implode? Pitching half his games in Dodger Statium will help I hope and when he pitches against the Giants he should bring his A Game to them for giving up on him... I did like the team getting Pierre as well. It should help getting him on base in front of Nomar and Gonzo. Go Big Blue, and may the giants suck even more this year then last.

The market is what it is. I think they overpaid not because of his talent, but because he is such an injury risk at this point. Not a huge risk, but just not worth $16mil. Then again, I'm a Rockies fan. (Yes, we do exist.)

Well U guys dig out first then worry about the Rockies. Espicually since they will probaby suck again anyways as they have been awfully quite this off season... I do hope you and yours are safe up there.

Compared to the other signings , Meche, Batista, and pitchers of that ilk , .500 or less, Schmidt is a steal at 16 million . As a METS fan , i'm jealous , bad arm or not . My GM is looking at pitchers like Ohka , Weaver and Armas and he couldn't sign Zito . Good luck , pitchers and catchers only 40 days away

yea but with your offense you should still do OK. Even with average pitching.

he...he....I see blue. As a Giants fan, I can say that 16MM will be well worth the price if Schmidt stays healthy. I was sad to see him go but the sorrow is nothing compared to the distress I will feel seeing him in Dodger blue. At least we got another marquis pitcher in Zito....but we ended up spending way too much. I would take Schmidt over Zito in orange any day. Well, I can't believe I'm saying this but good luck with the season and may you come in second behind thw Giants...lol.

The main things I wish for in a baseball season is a Dodger Pennant. If that is not to be then I only wish for the Dodgers to finish ahead of the Giants...And I am a Bay Area native, born and raised here. 8-)
