One of my brother just doing a science project in school, and he is wondering whether laughter or any other psychologically pleasing emotion, can actually help us heal faster. Can laughter really help you get better? Share with us...

They say laughter is the best medicine. I believe this. When we laugh, what is inside us are exercised. Besides, we would not laugh if nothing triggers us to laugh, either we are happy, etc. If we are happy, we are in top shape, in high spirits, and our immune system functions well that it can fight and overcome whatever enemy that is inside us. God created us so well that even if we do not go to the doctor, we could be healed of any sickness.

I totally believe it can help. laughing relaxes you and reduces stress and we all know stress doens't help any condition. I usually end up with pain in my sides and my face from laughing but that is a price well worth paying. A good laugh can clear your head and help you think better too. I know when I am really upset about something I tend to laugh because it seems like there is nothing else I can do. After I am done laughing I am better equiped to deal with whatever upset me in the first place. It is kind of like the light going off above my head..I just seem to see the answer better. So I say keep laughing.

Oh wow...yes, I firmly believe in the power of laughter in helping one to heal faster. I have seen it time and time again in my years of practicing nursing. Laughter releases endorphins and these endorphines are known to boost the immune system. Also, laughter and humor help to reduce stress. There are also pain theories that have shown that it is impossible to feel pleasure and pain at the same time, and so that by use of humor, a persons pain is decreased. I can tell you for sure that a person uses less pain medicine when they are humorous and laughing rather than focused on their pain. I really believe in the old adage of laughter being one of the best medicines!

Yes, definitely. Laughter is the best medicine as they say. While we laugh, our lungs and other vital parts are exercised or some sort of and blood circulation is improved. If blood circulation is good, we become healthy.

Laughter can make us feel better. Sometimes our illness or some of our problem is psychological so if we laugh some part of our brain is being signaled and this is good. It can help us cope with the problem. There is also a good effect of laughter in our heart.
