Ghost! A word of surprise, horror and thrill to me since my childhood. But still I am at the same conclusion as I was before in my childhood. Are scientists able to give a reasonable explanation of ghost or spirit... Ghost stories have been around for millenniums, but the big question for many is, "Is this a fable or truth?" Did someone just make up the ghost ghost stories or did it really occur. And if it did occur, was the ghost real or a creation of their imagination? In different religion there are different explanation in different ways about spirit and spiritual deeds and inturn welcome disguisely a subject or term called "Ghost". Some say they really believe and encounter in real life... Please share if you have anything that happened to your life which is spiritual, ghostly and have something beyond your logical explanation.

I would like to believe that there are spirits of some sort, perhaps ghosts, but maybe other kinds of spirits as well. The only possible ghost experience I had was when I was about 6. My parents and I were in Hawaii visiting some family and I think we were staying near Pearl Harbor. My nephew, who is two years older than I am, told me about ghosts that were supposed to live in the building we were staying in. Later that night, I recall hearing a woman and a boy talking in the downstairs area, but no one was actually down there. To this day, I have been very unsure whether this really happened or, whether it could have been a dream. One other thing I've seen, which was definitely *not* a dream, were strange green lights coming from some clouds a bit south of my house. They danced around in loops and figure-eights, sometimes quite fast. My mom saw them, too, and we had no explanation...they did not appear to come from spotlights on the ground, and all we could think was that there was either something hidden in the clouds producing them, or something that we could not see for any number of other reasons. I tried to do a bit of research on it a few years later and the closest earthly thing I found was something about argon lights (I just tried looking for it again, but found nothing very close). Argon lights can be green, but are typically very weak; these were a vivid green. For now, I'm marking it down as unexplained....who knows, maybe there really are UFOs.

Sorry to hear that your subconcious dream came true in bad way .. I also think its not an ghostly incendent but definitely there is a strong relation between our subconcious dreams and thoughts with our real life incidence in some cases. I have heard more of such happenings before.Hope and pray your father's early recovery. All the best.

I do not believe in ghosth and sprit as I did not face them tl now. May be I do believe in them once I experienced them. Science can give the explaination for all of the thinkg related to the real stories, but remember there is always scope to discover and rediscover the things in science.

Well its good that you are practical in your perception.I do agree that if you wont face anystrange happenings why would you believe?Science itself is searching some undiscovered and unanswere issue of life including spirit and ghost like term. May be this ghost phenomena also will get a good and reasonable explanation by science in near future.

i believe in spirits because back in my elementary, hs and early college days my third eye is active, all of us have third eye the only difference is that some are active and some are not, its our choice if we accept it or not, at first i was afraid but it made me realize i was blessed because i got to experience to see spirits, they are not hurting people, its an initial reaction to be afraid but eventually i became brave to face them, some spirits give their own message and they just want someone they can talk to just to accept the reality that they dont belong to or world already and we must help them through our prayers, i enjoy those times but of course there is still part of me that i feel scared, but i just told myself how lucky i am because i am not suffering what they feel by those times its rily hard to have no peace and thats what they want to have peace and someday we will be like them finding answers to all our qusetions and want someone to know what happen to us and help us accept the reality, learn to forgive and forget so we can have peace and full acceptance, they need us, let us help them

i remember one time, it was raining cats and dogs in ohio, and i was sitting on my friends front porch, chillin with them. we looked up the hill, and around her house came a man, dressed in a shirt and bike shorts. he walked about two houses down, and went between the houses, and yet, none of the dogs up there were barking, which they will do if someone is there, regardless of who it is, and despite the rain, he was COMPLETELY DRY!!!!

I like to call them spirits rather than ghosts because I've seen a few and they're nothing like the films portray them. I know they exist, because I've seen them and they're not all the same. Some are black and hooded and others are shadows... some you can't see, but you can feel them or hear them. I do believe that scientists have certain instruments which can track paranormal activity... I've seen videos online of these trackers. I can't remember the name of the guy now, but he was as scared as any other person would be with some of the findings. I've seen, felt and heard spirits in different places; in my home, in two different rooms, in the local school where I worked as caretaker at one time, in the churchyard next to the school and have had reports about one (which I haven't seen personally), in the local pub, which is opposite the steps to the church. So, I can tell you that spirits are definitely there, but they're a bit like UFOs. A lot of people won't believe they're there until they see the evidence with their own eyes, like I have.

I too have read alot on the internet about them... it's very exciting! But can also be very spooky! A friend of mine and I used to go "hunting" and take pics. The internet says that churches are some of the most haunted places on earth. I believe that because alot of people see their church as a place of "refuge"... so I would think a lost spirit would seek out their place of refuge. Great comment!!

A ghost is usually defined as the apparition of a deceased person, which frequently carries the deceased person's likeness and is experienced in association with the person's former habitats. The Word "Ghost" may also refer to the spiritor sol of a deceased person , or to any spirit or demon. Ghost are often associated with haunting, which according to the Parapsuchologcal Association is "The more or less regular occurrence or paranormal phenomena associated with a particular locality (especially a building) and usually attributed to the activities of a discarnate entity; the phenomena may include apparitions, poltergeist disturbances, cold drafts, sounds of steps and voices, and various odors." Ghosts are a controversial phenomena. Many people believe they are real spirits of the deceased, according to a recent poll by the Gallup Organization. The term ghost has been replaced by apparition in the scientific field of parapsychology, because the word ghost is deemed insufficiently precise./

Thank you for your response. I will appreciate if you please share some of your experiences that you felt in real life.Strange things have different reasons behind the scene which cant be explained for that moment or period sometimes. But if we synthesis the happenings with logical sequence we might come to a logical reason. So in your case if you come accross such occurence with or without reasonings, please share with us. take care.

Well to start ive never so much seen a ghost but the house that i currently live in is about 100 years old and a few strange and unexplainable things have happened. For instance one day we left the house and there was at the time a table in our dining room that my mother used for her makeup well on that table was a blow dryer. And upon leaving it was on the table we left and locked up all the doors and all windows were closed as it was fall. Well when we came back the blow dryer was gone and to this day has never been seen and this occured over 10 years ago. Another instance of something to do with a possible ghost or something of the sort happened in this ho use right after my great grandmother passed away. In what is now my bedroom use to be her living room. She had an old rocking chair in the corner and my grandfather was in here alone sitting on her rocker when the room suddenly got ice cold and a wind blew and he could smell her cooking in the house. All in all this house has had several such incedences in this house and on the property that this house stands on. And yes i do indeed believe in "ghosts" and the paranormal as it is a possibility that we share our planet with ghosts or spirits and who knows what else. And though we dont really know that much about said spirits its a very interesting field of study when you start to look into it. And granted some "ghost" sitings can be explained away as natural events but not all of them can and its those that cant be explained as "the magnetic pull of the earth as magnified by the old well under the house has caused these dulusions" the ones that dont fall into that catagory are the ones that im interested in.

i would have to say that i do believe and i believe strongly. How could i not when they are all around me? i have seen things that would terrify most. i have felt the pain and upset from spirits so strongly that it has broken my heart at times. They are there and they are there always, you just have to be open to them.

I have some real experiences. My family lived in a house for awhile that had a malevolent presence - that would make things physically happen. Some background: This house was on a hill and was falling apart. The front door opened inward and would sometimes fall open if the last person through it had not slammed it tight enough. Because the house leaned, if the door was not shut tight, the wind, dog, or whatever would cause it to swing open. Again, because the house leaned and gravity is real, the door would fling open. But, to close required considerable effort. First, the fact that gravity dictated it swing open if left to itself. Then, because the house was such piece of junk and the door frame was tweaked, the door literally had to be slammed or pushed very hard to get it to close. Now the story: The door had been coming open on a regular basis for some days. However, we just blamed whoever had last come through the door for not closing it tightly. Then, one night my husband and I were in the next room watching TV. The door banged open. Before we could determine which of us was to blame, it slammed closed again. Then we heard footsteps walk through the living room and go upstairs. We immediately assumed it was a friend we had recently had to kick out trying to sneak back in. My husband got up and went upstairs to tell the guy he was serious and he couldn't stay with us anymore. He came back downstairs looking very strange and said no one was upstairs!! This happened several times. Also, during this time, the upstairs began to have a very bad feeling associated with it. And, a friend of my husband who absolutely refused to believe in ghosts and did not know these strange events, refused to ever be in our house after dark. This macho guy always suddenly had an excuse, got very figity, and had to leave if it got dark - even if I had invited him to stay for dinner. If dinner was ready before dark, he gladly stayed and ate. But, even if he had said he wanted to stay, if it got dark before dinner was ready, he left!

I believe spirits do exist. I have encountered a few and know quite a few people that have also. I am not really scared of them. Most of the people I know say the spirits that visit them are relatives and friend who have passed away. Some say they are there to watch over you.

They are out there in many different forms, but until someone has seen or experienced a meeting with one then I don't think you can get one to belive in this side of the world
