Ikiru is a film that must be made compulsory viewing for all prospective and serving civil servants in India--regardless of their age and outlook, because it would be, hopefully, inject alot of sensitivity and promptness in the working patterns of these people. Of all Kurosawa's films, it is this that film, more than any other that shows that where there's life, there's always hope, and that where there's hope, there's always better chances for creating conditions to enable better lives to thrive and continue the chain of love down the line.
