What would you prefer? a free blog hosting provider or a paid one and why

My blog is currently hosted by Blogger.com, a free blog host provider. Im currently satisfied with it until an article i've read starts to concern me. The article states some downside of a free blog host provider regarding features, security, spam issues and the future of a blog. What is the advantage of a paid blog host over a free one? are you really not secure on a free blog host? is it really worth it to have your blog hosted by a paid blog host. Help me out please, please do include the name of your blog host and state its advantage over the others

My blog is a free blog by yahoo 360, I was there a lot before I came to my lot. It was referred to me by one of my friends there, I was not able to visit my blog for some time now, but I think It is a good place to exchange ideas also. In myLot, the reason i enjoy it is because you get to interact with your friends here more directly and you even earn in the process, so I keep it as my site to visit regularly.
