u are not bad pple....but unfortunately..there is a high feeling of nationalism...that "America is gr8"....no doubt about it..but to impose it on others is ...vot is ...annoying.......again ..not all have that but majority a them do have tat feelin...which intimidates the rest!!...may be leadin to a feelin a unrest !!

Don't you feel the same about your country? A little nationalism is all good and well. True it is wrong to impose our feelings on others but is that not what is being attempted to those of us here in the U.S.?

A quirk it may be, but hypothetical situation, you were raised in Japan, Wouldn't you think that Japan is the best country in the world? I don't think that there is any reason to be intimidated by someone whose nationalism runs deep.

I believe that are nationalism "America is the greatest country in the world" is just part of our culture. I'm not certain when this may have started- but we have grown up hearing this everywhere. It is as much part of our culture as respect for the queen may be in Great Britan. Difficult to understand for outsiders, but just think about it as a bit of a quirk.

i am also wondering why people here hates america. i am from the philippines and i don't have anything against america. i wanna go there one day and live there. some people here in the philippines have something against america, too. i know some. but when they get job offers to work in america, suddenly, their hatred towards america changed to embracing america. people are just sometimes very opinionated about everything without even thinking. which i see is bad.

How I would love to visit the Philippines some day. if I were to give you my e-mail would you send me some pictures? Sorry completely off of the subject. So what is it that drives the hatred felt toward america over there?

some filipinos say that america is trying to rule over the world and that they are really anti humanitarian. hmm. not a good sign from people in here. but don't get me wrong. not all filipinos are like that. most still loves america and we do look up for your country. and yes. i would love to send you photos of my country. i have some on my profile taken with my boyfriend. those photos were taken when we visited a beach resort in bohol last year.

Even being an american my self I would have to agree with you. The government we have regrettably sees itself as the protector of the world. Even with out being asked for help. They didn't want our help and we got stomped. How can we change?

I'm sure the basis of alot of their dislike is the war right now. That's the only thing I can think of (I am American and live in the US btw). They should probably base it on who we are as people rather than what our president has done.

As far as the war is concerned did whoever think that we wouldn't retaliate(sp). How did they think they would get away with killing thousands of our citizens without there being some sort of recompence? Were they trying to bait us into a war? We are not even sure who "they" are anymore.

Americans aren't hated so much as envied. As far as the bashing, you should have been on here a month ago, American bashing was a way of life. Some of this stuff is getting a little bit old. There's a Canadian guy on here now that makes a statement about how Americans put everybody down and then proceeds to write paragraph after paragraph putting down America & Americans. (Can we all say hypocrite?) Anyway, I decided not to even bother answering those threads anymore. Why give them responses? Let them sit long enough at their American computers, drinking their American coca cola, wearing their American blue jeans ...Maybe eventually they'll get the message.
