There were a lot of big signing in the offseason, who made the best one and why?

I think it was the Yankees getting rid of Randy Johnson. He was a great pitcher, the keyword being was. Dumping his huge salary and getting four good prospects back is a pretty good deal. I don't like the Red Sox move to sign the Japaneese pitcher for so much, due to the fact that he hasn't proven himself in the MLB.
