What is the difference between a dolphin and a porpoise?

A dolphin has a rounded nose and a porpoise has a pointed nose. I have never seen a porpoise except in pictures. This summer we went to the Minnesota Zoo as a family and saw the Dolphins Show - that was so cool. My kids were in awe the whole time!
