Money are transitional. I was poor and I was rich. Same thing, different problems. In fact the most unsecure people are people with a lots of money. I did not change and will not change if I am rich again. Also, for some people glass is half way full, for some is half way empty. Mine is always full.

I think it would depend heavily on how this money was attained. IF I were born into a wealthy family then I can't really say how I would spend or how it would affect me, but.... if it were found money, like winning the lottery or something... that's an ENTIRELY different story. Let's say I hit the lottery for... ohhhh.... let's say... 255 mill. Just a general figure. I would first of all, put in for a leave of absence in my job. I wouldn't quit because I know that I would be bored before long and would be looking for something to do and you just never know. I would then hire an accountant that I can trust (I do actually know one of these! lol) and have her pay off all of my bills (including any of those sneaky little buggers that you forget about like the 10 dollar late fee some Joe Schmoe once charged you and forgot to tell you about) and have her do the same for my Mother. This bill paying would include paying off my car and the house. I would then pay off my brother's home and buy my sister in law a mini-Cooper because she wants one for some silly reason. I would buy my Mom the new vehicle of her choice and I would take my car in and have it tricked out with every luxury item I could add to it as well as having the windows tinted and the thing painted (it's white! lol). I would then proceed to buy myself a big HONKIN SUV with every extra available. Then I would get about 50,000 in cash and go to the big grocery store where the poorest people generally shop and I would give everyone in the store 300 bucks to pay for their groceries. I would pick a random person and take them shopping for whatever they wanted and pay their monthly bills. I would go buy a truckload of toys and take them up to the Pediatrics ward at the hospital where I work and pass them out to the children. I would send my Father a big fat check and beg him to retire and play golf all day long. I would take my step mother to Savannah Georgia like she's always wanted. I would make my Mother quit her job and then I would go to her job and tell her boss what a b!tch I think she is. I would have my Mother's yard landscaped and have the entire house remodelled and build her the back porch she's always wanted. I would myself a house. A great big house in Colorado, in the mountains with enough rooms that I could invited my entire family to come for christmas. I would then probably quit my job and move to Colorado where I would take some college classes, at my leisure of course and write the great american novel. Beyond that, who knows? I think I would start taking more vacations and having wildly extravagant christmases and birthdays for my family, but I would still be the same person...only carrying a Louis Vuitton bag instead of the JC Penney model I have now.

I sure wouldn't want it to. I'm starting to like who I am. I think having a lot of money can change a person for the worse. Not all people of course, but I can see people spending money foolishly. Take care Eaforeman6.

I would buy a few things for my self, and continue what I am doing now. I might travel more often and invest in some new hobbies. I would give some of my wealth to my family members and help them to pay for granchildren's college down the road. I would find several good causes and donate money to help out. A dream of mine has been to drive around the country (US) and while traveling give away some money to those who might need it. I would use some of my riches to continue my work and to invest with. But I would keep the money always moving around and not hide it in a matress. I would build a new home and buy a new vehicle and new furnishings. I would not have more than one vehicle or several homes. This is my dream and when I have the riches, this is my plan to spend them and use them. I don't think I would change all that much as I would not try to impress people with my riches. Then again, the greatest riches are happiness, peace of mind, and self-esteem.

Thank you for your post! I just agree with you! I would never want someone to like me more because I had money or pretend to be my friend if they are not. Thank you for the wise words....

I would make sure my family is taken care of. I would invest in some sort of fund. I would also like to set up a scholarship type thing in my brother's name for those who are visually impaired. I would also like to help the Parkinson's Disease, Cancer, and Diabetes research in some way. I think if I had as much money as Warren Buffet it would change me somewhat, but I feel I would still be the same person inside.

Well, if I came from a rich family and didn't have to work so hard for my money, I would save it. Of course shop and travel too. If I won the lottery, I'd buy a house for me, and for my parents, cars for my family, then travel. if you were born into money, you wouldn't know how to live average. But if the money just came to you, then yeah...I think it would change everyone. For me, it wouldn't change the person that I am. I would donate money, buy stuff for friends and family, and I would probably keep my job too, depending on how much money i won or inherited. ;)
