Does anyone know enough to describe any painting techniques?

I only ask because I am compiling a report on art/painting techniques and am interested in these things.

Wax on, Wax off! - Karate Kid scene with Mr. Miyagi teaching Daniel-san that the work he had Daniel-san doing was teaching him blocking moves.
Mr. Miyagi taught Daniel-san the wrist-flipping method when making him paint his fence...

painting techniques! - painting techniques!
this one is from a forum i read recently....checkit out spread very rough lead white pieces (thickness 1-2 mm) on top of red ground-layer (priming coat) before started to use oil-colors. The lead white can't be seen as a white color, but only as a rough surface.by this a special kind of light reflection with the optical effect of a smooth transition from one color to the next, the colors should merge into each other.

Turner's Painting Techniques book - painting is practical and art worthy. Style and types of paint is only limited by your imagination
What medium are you doing the report on? Does it focus on one line of techniques for a particular medium? Are you including watercolor or house paint!? This is a possible good source of information, however, I suggest you head to the library and wow them with your report!!
