Top European country or city to visit

Anyone that's been to Europe, which would you say is your favorite city or country there and why? I am thinking of going to visit a few and would like to know which are the most attractive. For tourism that is, things and places to see.
Which ones aren't worth it?
Some of the ones I was thinking is Italy - Rome etc, Paris, Prague, Germany, Austria.

Should visit France and DEFINATELY Switzerland. Germany you may want to visit, I'm visitng it next year so don't have much insights on it right now, but you could go visit :) Heard there's some interesting castles and such in Munich.
