For those who used Yahoo chatrooms......

Did you find that most rooms were actually full of guys looking for "hot times" and free thrills? I used yahoo for a while and it just seemed to me that most guys would instant message without asking permission, because they were up to no good. They would get into private conversations so that they could get extremely personal as fast as possible. Who else found this to be true?

Yes, I got rid of Yahoo chat because I got pestered with men on the prowl. They didn't even have to know anything about you, just as long as you have a female name!! And they'd get dirty right away!! Disgusting!!! A little courtesy goes a long way. lol

You know, you can tell Yahoo Instant Messenger to not accept messages from people who are NOT on your list. Pretty sure you can, anyway. Not sure how it works if you're in a chat room, though. I haven't tried the chat rooms in a long time.

I agree with the statement, however, I also think that this happens in EVERY chat program you use. People only annoy you, if you let them. I see no problem in asking someone, "Excuse me? Did I ask you to pm me?" Or most of the time just turn off my pm's and I'd never see them. I have absolutely NO problems with anyone on yahoo anymore. Once you call them out in the room, they leave the room because they are embarrassed. If they start asking in the room, why I can't talk in PM, then I tell them, because there is no reason to talk privately when we have to room to talk in, and there's nothing I can't say in private that I can't say in the room, right? Most leave after that, but some start asking personal questions in the room, so I respond. "Do you really think that's any of your business?" They end up leaving... and don't come back.

Such guys just want to have fun in the chat room. But I think one should be prepared for such activities because it is known that it will happen in a place like chat room where privacy is not a privacy..so one has to be prepared to tackle that problem. Such guys just get into the private messaging and want to start chatting without knowing the consent of the other messaggee. One should not allow them the free space. They should be very strong to choose whom tochat and whom not to chat..

Large chat rooms are full of people like that... I used to be a regular on a larger chat server and it got really really old. So, I bought my own chat. I run it the way I want it to run, and don't allow just any ol' freak in there just looking for a "Good cyber." Check it out if you like! =) www.justanotherchat.com

I'm sure thats the case with many chatrooms. At least the few I've visited. But it's not just the guys, have been invited many times by the ladies to private rooms only to find its a pay site.

I always felt that way when I went into those chatrooms. Recently I stopped going because that is not what i'm looking for. I just got to have good conversations. Guys need to stop looking for"good times" cause they not gonna find it.

you're right. Especially when you have web cam they easily ask for hot staff. I'm used with this. I just ignore them when they're wanted to open this topic.
