What would you think is the reason that some people act out their evil side and other's do not? Is it our love of pleasure and disgust for pain? Pleasure being freedom and pain being caught and sent to jail....

I'd have to agree with Tanya8. Most people have empathy and compassion for others and do not act on darker impulses. These people know the difference between wrong and right and care about the consequences of breaking rules/laws. Other people just do not have the capacity for empathy and compassion. They may know what's right and what's wrong, but do not care about the repercussions of their actions. New studies are showing differences in the brains of average people and those who are violent criminals.

I think people are born with different levels of ability to feel empathy. Those that have more of it, are able to control their negative impulses better than those that have less.
