Is heart disease reversible?

A dear fried of mine had a heart attack and had stant put in one of his arteries. It was 6 months ago. He read that the heart disease is reversible. I think it was Dr. Ornish who writes book about reversing heart disease with Fat free diet, exercise and meditation. If you guys know how my friend can avoid the second heart attack please post here. He has already lost 10 pounds and is very motivated.
