Hi, What kind of parrot do you have and what are you feeding him. Since 29th of December 2006 we have a congo grey parrot and he is 2,5 years old. He speaks, whisles, etc and we can handle him like a small child. Our parrot is eating seeds, special parrot food and sometimes fresh fruit, and pellets. Everyday we refresh his water and food and clean up the cage where he stays in during the night, as he is a free bird on the day. Let me know what kind of food you give to your parrot..

We have two parrots. We have tried a few different kids of seed, but the only one they really like is a brand from Wal-Mart. Ugh! I hate having to buy it there! Beside that, they get some people food. We don't give them any dairy or onions. I keep fresh fruit and vegetables in the refrigerator. Lately I have been giving them a lot of cherries. They love them.

We have not tried to give him cherries up till now. But I have read that they also like mango. So we are going to buy a mango. And of course fruit has been kept in the fridge to keep it fresh.

I have 2 African Greys.I feed them a special parrot food. They also get unsalted peanuts and just about anything we eat. The exception is chocolate. From my understanding, chocolate can make a bird sick. So,no chocolate. I also try to watch that they don't get an excessive amount of saltly food. As for the cherries, one of my birds loves them fresh from our tree. The other throws them at me.
