Eragon is a heroic tale with a theme of good vs. evil. What aspects of Eragon's character make him heroic? Is Eragon's character flawless? Explain. Do you think Eragon's character is a good choice for the hero? Why or why not?

Eragon is a really great movie about dragons... I got motived by it, hehe. But I think that they cold explore more the powers of Eragorn and the dragon... It had to be more slow, man... The dragon just got adult in a second! If they have doed like lord of the rings (trilogy) that wold be much more better.

In the movie the character of Eragon is portrayed a little more realistically than in the novel. In the novel the character swings from whiny to unbelieveably calm and far too cavalier in quick succession. In all honesty though I think the realism of the movie's portrayal of the character makes a good hero. I'm not much for movies where the characters are perfect or near perfect because, to be frank, nobody is perfect. Seeing a character with his flaws and being able to follow their growth and development through the tale is what makes the story compelling. How can one relate or look up to a character that is "flawless"? The answer is that you can't and it's because our mind cannot wrap around the concept and rejects the idea as "unbelievable" or"fake".
