I am sorry but I need to vent. I am really tired of people responding to my discussions with 1 line answers. What is the point of starting a discussion if people dont explain themselves? I am also really tired of reading responses to discussions I am going to respond to what has loads of 1 word or 1 line answers that offer the easy way out. Alot of mylot members need to learn to read, and then read the entire discussion topic to fully understand where the person is coming from. For those members who leave quality responses and you know who you are THANK YOU. For the rest. GROW UP AND GO BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!

We all have been getting the one liners, the non-thinkers, the cheaters who respond quickly so they can move onto the next discussion. Money, money, money. Nevermind about taking the time to read the discussion. That would take up too much time. I give negative ratings to those who respond without thinking. Maybe if we started posting this in our discussions we would get less of the one-liners.

That is just the thing I DO state that 1 liners will get negative ratings and people dont care they do it anyway. They dont read the entire discussion topic.

It does get very frustrating. Just keep giving them a negative rating and type it for a comment to their response.

I agree with ElusiveButterfly that maybe we should state that we are going to give negative ratings to these people. At least then they'll have been warned, whether they read it or not! *laugh* I have gotten a fair amount of one-line responses as well, but they don't bother me too much as long as I can tell that that person truly didn't have anything more to say. In other cases, when you can tell that they are just spamming your discussion, it is quite annoying.

I agree, school sucks! Hahaha! Just kidding! But anyway, I agree with you! :) I guess that is one of my pet peeves on here. So I do the opposite, I try to explain myself the BEST that I can... I like to go in to detail just so my response is worth posting! :)

LOL! School sucks *laugh* That caught my eye and really made me laugh *laugh* And no, this isn't a one line reply because I've already gotten a point for replying to this discussion.. I just had to add that your comment really amused me ^_^

LOL go back to school! so cute! i understand your frustration, but there are members who want the easy way out...by typing oneliner and earn the money, not realising that by the end of the day, myLot will deduct the earnings when found out too. not only im frustrated with oneliners, but i especially dont like it when you ask a question, and someone will respond 'no, i dont know, i havent tried it' stuff like that...i was like, if you dont know, then dont answer!!!!

Yes there are alot of one liners here, but it shouldn't really matter to you as long as you are getting someone to respond. I never even think about it. They may only need one line to express their opinion. They may not have a lot to say about the discussion but they had an answer. Just keep posting and over look the one liners.

Ummm, you create discussions such as "what is your favorite color" and you want to lecture us? Please, my guess is you are creating junk posts and getting upset when people make one word responses so you don't get credit. If you create junk posts you get junk answers.

Excuse me but that was back when I just started with mylot. I have learned alot since then. Go back and look at more of my topics and you will see there are more that are relevant discussions. Dont go putting me down for learning when I first started. We all do it and then we learn from our mistakes.

Maybe because we have a life and want to just make money unlike you. I have a 150 IQ and took college English in high school but that doesn't mean I'm going to waste all my time posting more than I have to.

If you ahve 150IQ then what are you doing here on mylot when you could be out in the world making even more money than mylot offers. I am here for the mony in part. But there is more to life then just money.

And you don't _have_ to post here at all. If you have such a life, why do you leave lame comments in people's topics? Why not be as erudite as you claim to be and start some interesting discussions? Of course, you don't _have_ to do that either. ~Wyrdsister

people leave one line answers because they can't think of anything interesting to say
8 Jan 07
LOL, see what i did there! anyway, it is sometimes down to the questioners there are a lot of crap questions that don't leave much room for creativity, e.g. how tall are you? what colour eyes do you have? but i do get your point, i've started discussions and people just say something like "I agree". I don't care if you agree with what i said, why do you agree? You've made me angry now! relax stephen its not their fault. OK all better thankyou for the discussion i will try to make long and interesting answers in the future

hehehe, I have had people respod to my discussions in way that actually has had me doubting that they know how to read. I am also sick of all the meaningless discussions and also all the one word answers. I signed up here a while ago thinking that discussion is fun and i still do. it just takes longer to find good subjects when u have to go through hundreds oh shi**y ones =)

I'm just as frustrated. I get the same kind of responses and it drives me up the wall. I give them negative responses and sometimes, I'll admit it, I get snappy. I can't help it. People don't read the discussions - I had a whole post on that, on how many people just read a line and then assume they know what they're replying to.

It depends on teh discussion you start. I do it sometimes. When i look at the discussions, i think of something interesting. When it is already put in the discussion by someone through their replies, i dont want to write teh same opinion again as it comes as a copy and paste.Whatever think, i should write, i will write without the sentences which have already been mentioned. So that i what i can say here. i see many people in this discussions, i have replied 1 line answers. It is the same, as an other person say, people cant think of any ineteresting sentence to put.

most interesting thing is people i saw who are responding in one line (where is feel one line is not enough to respond), they also responded in this discussion and saying they hate one line responsers. ha ha ha! I do see people are responding with one line or even with one word. per my opinion that is perfectly fine who wants to do that in that way. you don't need to read those answer at all. i also see that people responding to those discussions only where the topic is not much interesting. i don't see one line response for a good topic. so it all depends on you (who posting the discusson topic) how you are able to catch your audience.

I haven't been a member long but I have noticed this, and yes it is annoying to have to scroll through short one line or one word answers to try to find people who are actually participating in the discussion. It's possible that, as you said they don't read the entire discussion, or they have nothing of value to contribute but still want to comment in order to get paid. My general rule is that if I have nothing of substance to contribute, I'll read what others have to say but won't comment.

I would say that we are lucky to have you here in myLot because someone like you will certainly help improving the quality of myLot. And you've done it already by expressing your thoughts here. But sometimes we need to accept the things we cannot change. There are many motives of thousands myLotters and we cannot control them all. We'd better try to encourage them to put more appreciation for this community or just let them be. Time will tell how things are gonna be here =)

i love it when you vent, always makes me smile. Some people think that by answering hundreds of discussions with one word answers they will get rewarded. Well Im here to tell them, do it in my discussions they will get reported to mylot. In fact, if im totaly honest ive reported people in other discussions too, is this wrong?

Go right a head and vent. I will join you in it as well. It really irritates me when I post a legnthy discussion post and I get back one line answers or worse two words "I agree" or similar. I want to reach out and smack them for that. Worse are the ones who post "I have no opinion", well then why did you bother to post. Sheesh! This is a discussion board, you are suppossed to discuss. To write, to explain, to comment, which means far more then just a word or two. Now yes if you are answering back to a comment it might only be a line but that is different. Your first response should be in depth so we know how what they are trying to say and why. Of course it would help if they would read the full discussion. So many just look at the keyword and take off on it and far too often that means it isn't really on topic. For example a keyword here might be mylot but if I posted about how mylot paid me that wouldn't be on topic to the discussion. If you can't read and respond honestly then don't bother.

Me too, I am getting sick of people who didn't read the entire discussion, they only wanted to get as many post as they can and they only wanted to earn more money. So, they didn't care about what are they posting and what discussion they have made. I hate people who just make classical answer like yes or no in my discussion, I think they didn't appreciate me for making such discussion, because it was really hard to make a good discussion, what i really needed is opinion and suggestion from other user no such an answer. I really appreciate for those really concern about the quality of discussion not just wanted to make many post or earn more money. Why don't people just care about discussion, with quality discussion, i think they will earn more money so there is no problem with it right?

hey, i just read a discussion with one line subject heading and one word description! how about that? does mylot pays to these people? i think mylot does not.. its some sort of a survey which they themselves does not explain why and how.. are they trying to have that posts just for the sake of posting or what? there are lots of good posters in here, and there are lots of not.. hoping that they will post something substantial in the next discussion they gonna make..^^
