How to earn with Adsense?

I have a Google Adsense account and have it posted around my blog, and I'm on a few link exchange sites, and I have stats saying people are viewing my blog, but nobody seems to be clicking on any of the ads. Is there a more effective way of getting them out there for people to click? Any suggestions?
